Bob.... Past and Present

Bob Ego was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He started playing the drums at age 9 and was performing full time with bands by the time he was 15.

He was considered one of the top Canadian rock drummers throughout the 70s and has an impressive collection of Canadian music awards.

In 1984 he married Sally Zildjian of the Zildjian cymbal family, and was a key member of the Sabian management team when they broke the U.S. market in the mid 80s.

He remained with Sabian for 5 years as a product specialist and artist relations. He also managed east coast music stores before moving back to Canada in the early 90s.

His travels brought him to Las Vegas where he continues to record, perform and teach drums.

Bob Ego has played on over 100 albums and is the recipient of the 2009 Double Platinum Award from Capitol Records for the Streetheart - Streetheart album.

Currently Bob Ego is working with Rhino Entertainment on the re-mastering of the Painter album. Bob has taken it to the streets and proud to announce the official August 11th, 2009 release of the Painter album, now available on Wounded Bird Records.
